Scheduling COQB Exam

Determining your Eligibility
You must get authorization from the NC Code Officials Qualification Board (the Board) to take an examination.

The NC Code Officials Qualification Board (COQB) approved transitioning to a remote, online, live-proctored COQB exam. You may choose to test in-person at a PSI site or remotely; however, if you select PSI on or before April 30, 2027, you must complete both attempts by June 15, 2027. Beginning June 16, 2027, all COQB exams will be remote proctored online.
You will select remote proctored online testing (QUEST) or testing at a PSI location as part of the application process. Once you have completed your application, you will not be able to change the exam method. If your first attempt is at PSI, then your second attempt must be at PSI also. The same applies for QUEST.
