NC Emergency Training Center to Dedicate World Trade Center Steel in 9/11 Memorial Ceremony

The North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal (OSFM) will host a special ceremony today at the North Carolina Emergency Training Center (ETC) to commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, and dedicate a piece of World Trade Center steel as a permanent memorial at the training center.

The ceremony will honor the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives on September 11, the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice, the survivors, and the families whose lives were forever changed.

The memorial beam will serve as a lasting reminder to the firefighters and emergency responders who train at the ETC of the courage, sacrifice and service demonstrated by first responders on September 11.

The ceremony will include remarks from 9/11 survivor Mark Giannini, who will share his personal experience from that day, followed by the dedication of the World Trade Center beam by North Carolina State Fire Marshal Brian Taylor.
