Commissioner Causey to highlight fire service achievements during two stops this weekend

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will honor fire personnel with a pair of visits to Orange and Chatham counties on Friday, November 17 and Saturday, November 18.

Commissioner Causey, who is also the State Fire Marshal, will present an Order of the Guardian Award to fire service personnel in recognition of years of service at 7 p.m. on Friday in Hillsborough. The award will be presented during the Orange County Emergency Services Banquet.

The Order of the Guardian Award is the highest honor bestowed by the Department of Insurance.

At 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, Commissioner Causey will present a Century Award to the Siler City Fire Department, recognizing the department’s 100th year anniversary. The department will also host a fire apparatus parade and judging contest beginning at 9:30 a.m.
