North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will present checks to emergency response units from Brunswick and Bladen counties and address Brunswick County property owners during a stop on Wednesday, April 20.
Commissioner Causey, who is also the State Fire Marshal, will present $5,000 grant checks to Brunswick Search and Rescue, Oak Island Water Rescue, Bladen County Emergency Medical Services and White Oak Fire Department during a stop in Bolivia.
These checks are the result of $250,000 contribution made by the N.C. Surplus Lines Association to help firefighters and rescue squads in North Carolina.
“It is also an honor for me to personally present these surplus lines checks, courtesy of the NCSLA,”
Commissioner Causey said. “This money will help needy rescue units better respond to critical life saving situations.”
The commissioner will also address members of The Alliance of Brunswick County Property Owners during a forum scheduled at Odell Williamson Auditorium later that morning.
