Commissioner Causey to celebrate Derby VFD’s 40th anniversary

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will join firefighters from the Derby Volunteer Fire Department in celebrating the department’s 40th anniversary on Saturday morning.

Commissioner Causey, who is also the State Fire Marshal, will also present the Department’s top award to two of the fire department’s charter members.

Jim Lambeth and Brion Richardson, who have provided continuous service to the community as firefighters since the department’s inception in 1983, will receive the Order of the Guardian, which is the highest award bestowed by the Department of Insurance.
