North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will honor the memory of firefighter Lester G. Jessup during a reception held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25 in Elon.
Capt. Jessup, who died on Oct. 29, 2020, while an active volunteer firefighter, served the department for more than 36 years. Capt. Jessup was instrumental in establishing, designing and staffing the Town of Elon’s Emergency Operations Center within Elon Fire Department Station No. 8.
The commissioner, who serves as the State Fire Marshal, will attend the ceremony along with members of the Jessup family.
