COQB - Code Education

Board Standard Certificate Courses
All classes are taught through the NC Community College System.
Community Colleges are the only Board approved Sponsors for Standard Certificate courses. Students have free access 24/7 to all course materials (slides, worksheets) through their CEO ID LOGIN and the NCDOI Code College Online below.
Instructors must have 5 years' experience and hold Level 3 Standard Certificate for the Trade/Code taught.
The Board's mandatory Law and Administration courses are taught by North Carolina licensed attorneys at law.

NC Community Colleges offering COQB Standard Certificate Courses
This interactive GIS map shows locations of Community Colleges that offer Board courses and 500 NC local government AHJs (blue dots) responsible for issuing building and fire permits and performing inspections for residential and commercial construction. City and Town corporate boundaries are shown in gray. Clicking on certain map features results in additional pop-up information boxes. Continuing Education Courses
Continuing Education courses taught by Board approved Sponsors and Instructors may appear in the schedule above.
Instructors are required to enter student names in the online roster and submit so that CE credit appears in the Code Enforcement Official's (CEO) online account.

Education Sponsors, Instructors and Courses
Board Rules require Sponsors, Education Coordinators and Instructors to provide accurate student rosters, grades and evaluation documents for course credit.
Submit new courses for approval.
Organizations and individuals interested in becoming Board approved education course sponsors and instructors may apply online.
Sponsor applications must include a course submission.
