Causey in Wake Forest Tuesday to announce new fire insurance rating

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey, who also serves as the State Fire Marshal, will announce the new insurance rating for the Wake Forest Fire Department on Tuesday, Nov. 16. The announcement will take place at 5:45 p.m. at the Wake Forest Council Chamber, 301 S. Brooks St., Wake Forest, N.C. 27582.

The Wake Forest Fire Department recently underwent an inspection by the Office of State Fire Marshal. A fire department’s rating affects homeowners’ and business insurance premiums and helps signal how prepared firefighters are at responding to calls and battling blazes in their fire districts.

The new rating will become effective for insurance policies on April 1, 2022.
