Causey to kick off Smoke Alarm Saturday in Greensboro

Insurance Commissioner and State Fire Marshal Mike Causey will join the Greensboro Fire Department on Saturday, June 4th to officially kick off Smoke Alarm Saturday.

Smoke Alarm Saturday is our annual one-day, statewide smoke alarm canvassing event designed to bring awareness of the need to have working smoke alarms in homes.

Starting at 9 a.m., Commissioner Causey and firefighters from the Greensboro Fire Department will be going door-to-door in the community to check homes and install new smoke alarms when necessary.

Commissioner Causey’s goal is to educate as many people as possible about home fire safety and more importantly, provide them with smoke alarms and the resources needed to take extra precautions from home fires.
