Insurance Commissioner & State Fire Marshal Mike Causey is teaming with the Greensboro Fire Department to kick-off Fire Prevention Week on Tuesday, October 11 at 10 a.m. at the Greensboro Science Center.
This kick-off event will feature fire prevention shows, an appearance from Sparky the Fire Dog, as well as games, activities, and giveaways for families!
Fire Prevention Week runs from Oct. 9-15, 2022. This year’s theme is “Fire won’t wait. Plan your escape.”
During Tuesday’s event, Greensboro firefighters will perform skits and fire prevention shows geared towards educating people about this year’s theme. Commissioner Causey will hand out children’s fire prevention coloring books and will talk to families and the media about the importance of creating and practicing a home fire escape plan.
