North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will announce new ratings for two fire departments during visits to Forsyth and Rowan Counties on Monday, Nov. 8.
Commissioner Causey, who is also the State Fire Marshal, will announce the new rating for the Spencer Fire Department at 10 a.m. Monday at the fire station at 208 S. Salisbury Ave., Spencer, N.C. 28159.
He will announce the new rating for the Walkertown Fire Department at 1 p.m. Monday at the fire station at 5225 Main St., Walkertown, N.C. 27051.
The Spencer Fire Department and the Walkertown Fire Department recently underwent an inspection by the Office of State Fire Marshal. A fire department’s rating affects homeowners’ and business insurance premiums and helps signal how prepared firefighters are at responding to calls and battle blazes in their fire districts.
