Join us in Concord for the annual Safe Kids North Carolina Injury Prevention Conference!

The Safe Kids team is excited to offer the Safe Kids Conference in person this year! Please refer to the "Covid Information" section below, for further details.

This year's conference will focus on Child Passenger Safety (CPS), providing attendees the opportunity to earn six CEU credits for their CPS recertification.  Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about new trends in CPS, as well as the ability to network with and learn from other CPS professionals. 

Who Should Attend: Injury Prevention Coordinators, Safe Kids Coordinators and Coalition Members, Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Personnel, Firefighters, Health Care Professionals, and anyone who works to assist in preventing childhood injuries.

Space is limited so register early. We hope to see you in Concord!

Registration and Fees

The 2021 Safe Kids NC Conference is now full.  We hope to see you in 2022!

Covid-19 Information

The Safe Kids NC team, as well as the staff at the Great Wolf Lodge, takes the risks of Covid-19 spread seriously and will be following the CDC and NCDHHS guidelines for holding this conference.  

Following the Governor’s Executive Order, this year’s conference will be condensed to 1½ days and attendance will be limited. Please register early, to secure a spot!

Face coverings, 6 feet of separation, use of hand sanitizer stations and adhering to clearly marked entrances and exits, will be mandatory for all attendees and staff.  We thank you in advance, for your cooperation!

Due Dates & Cancellations

Reservations: In order to receive the reduced conference room-rate, you must reserve your room prior to Sunday, April 25, 2021.
Conference Registration: Deadline to register is May 7, 2021

** Refund Policy: The conference will be held unless there is a state of emergency in NC. There will be no penalty for cancellations/refund requests received on or before May 7, 2021.

Paid registrations may be transferred from one registrant to another. Contact: allison.cummings@ncdoi.gov.

Telephone requests WILL NOT be honored.

Refunds will not be issued for cancellations received after midnight on May 7, 2021. Late refund requests from attendees who are unable to attend, due to a death or family emergency will be considered on a case-by-case basis by Safe Kids NC.

Substitution Policy: Substitutions are welcome any time before or after the indicated deadline. Registration fee may be transferred from one registrant to another.

•    Hotel rate does include water park passes for each sleeping room occupant, for the duration of the event.

•    Free on-site parking is available.

Reservations must be made by Sunday, April 25, 2021. After the cutoff date, no reservations at the group rate are guaranteed.

Wednesday (May 26): Breakfast and Lunch

Breakfast will be served in The Loose Moose Cottage.

Attendees must bring their name badge for meal entry.

Award Nomination Forms

Safe Kids NC is now accepting nominations, to recognize outstanding injury prevention efforts by Safe Kids NC coalitions, individuals, agencies, or programs.

Nominations will be accepted in the following categories:
•    Safe Kids NC Coalition of the Year
•    Safe Kids NC Coordinator of the Year
•    Outstanding Outreach Initiative
•    Excellence in Injury Prevention by an Individual

All nominations must be received by 5pm on March 19, 2021. Please send completed nominations to Jason Nesbit at jason.nesbit@ncdoi.gov.
